concept

flat pack art to.... is an artistic exchange between different countries that address the artists need for new ways of exhibiting and exporting artworks in the current economic climate. flat pack art to.... proposes to the artists involved to create a series of new artworks with the requisite that can be folded in a flat pack to be sent abroad. The idea of the exchange is to connect contemporary artists and curators from Europe and exhibit newly commissioned work from the artists involved.

flat pack art to.... was initiated by Elizabeth Aro, Cristina Ghetti and Ima Picó, after the success of two similar projects, universal shipping box, an artists exchange that exhibited new artworks in three different countries that fitted into a universally sized ‘pizza’ box and un---fold, a low cost artists exchange that proposed to create a series of new artworks with the requisite that could be folded in an A4 envelope.
